The State of Qatar has welcomed the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into Syria’s military institutions, describing the move as an important step toward strengthening civil peace, security and stability in the country.
The position was announced by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which reaffirmed Doha’s support for Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and the aspirations of its people.
Qatar Hails Step Towards Civil Peace
Qatar said the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces into the country’s military institutions represents a significant development in efforts to consolidate civil peace and national stability.
The move is also seen as supporting the establishment of a state based on institutions and the rule of law, while bringing different segments of Syrian society under a unified national framework.
Qatar Calls for a Unified Syrian Army
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that Syria’s long-term stability and prosperity require the state to maintain a monopoly on arms through a single national army.
According to Qatar, such an approach would help ensure that Syria’s sovereignty and independence are preserved while protecting the country’s territorial integrity.
Doha considers a unified military institution an important foundation for strengthening state authority and creating conditions for lasting stability.
Support for Syria’s Efforts to Unite Its People
Qatar also expressed its appreciation for the Syrian government’s approach and its continued efforts to bring different segments of the population together under the umbrella of the state.
The Ministry highlighted the importance of national unity and institutional development in supporting Syria’s future and creating a more stable environment for its people.
Qatar Reaffirms Support for Syrian Sovereignty
Qatar reiterated its full support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The country also reaffirmed its support for the aspirations of the Syrian people for freedom, development and prosperity, stressing the importance of initiatives that contribute to peace and stability.
Focus on Stability and State Institutions
Qatar’s statement underlines its broader position that strengthening state institutions and national unity is essential for Syria’s recovery and future development.
The integration of armed groups into state institutions, according to Doha, can contribute to creating a more unified security structure and support efforts to build a stable state governed by institutions and law.
